Summer Skincare Tips for a Youthful and Beautiful skin

Summer Skin Care Tips

Summer skincare tipsWith this heat glaring at us, we need some serious summer skincare tips. I have no idea how hot it is currently in your neck of the woods, but where I am right now it’s only 38°C, with an expected high of 40°C; and that’s only the beginning of a Dubai summer.  One of the most important things you should watch over is your summer skincare routine, whether you are relaxing by the poolside or sunbathing by the sea.

Some of us crave that natural tan look, especially during the summer months. I once saw a neighbor by the pool basking in the sun with temperatures running at a high of 44°C; I don’t know about you but that gave me the sweats even though I was in a cooler place.

Those of you who have been to the United Arab Emirates know very well that summer in Dubai is as hot as it gets, and the reason to having some great summer skincare tips. Whether you like it or not, you are very likely to get a tan or a pattern tan within no time of being in the open (that’s why you will rarely find me in the open).

The truth is, if you do not take measures to protect your skin, you might be inviting an array of skin issues. Some of which might have a serious outcome, as well as others that have effects which cannot be reversed.

With this in mind, I consulted a favorite laser and skincare specialist on a few summer skincare tips to help your skin survive this summer and more summers in the future, and welcome fall without anything more serious than a safely acquired tan.

Skin Sun protection for summer skincare

Summer 4Yes, I know you have heard about this summer essential since you were born, but I will nevertheless repeat it over and over again. Covering your skin with a broad spectrum sunscreen/sun block cream will not only keep you from being on the receiving end of harsh UV rays, but also keep your mind at ease and allow yourself to get that tan; although in my opinion, it will be better if you took it easy on the sun tan.

Stay hydrated

skin3Water is one of the most important essentials for a healthy and younger-looking skin. Whether you like water or not you really have to drink it if you love your skin. By hydrating yourself on the inside, it will reflect on the outside, which means your skin will look happy and well-taken care of. If plain water bores you, you can occasionally switch to coconut water, which has amazing benefits overall.

Eat your veggies and fruits

summer6Just like drinking water, you need to consume a healthy diet filled with fruits and veggies, which are rich in antioxidants. This is because they will treat the skin from within, leaving you looking radiant. These foods will also hydrate your skin, which is important as we have seen already.

Exfoliate your skin

This is a great summer skincare tip. By exfoliating your skin, you will be removing dead skin which acts as a barrier to your skin’s absorption abilities. To make it more worthwhile, you can have a Microdermabrasion treatment, which I will be writing about shortly. This will leave your face looking radiant, smoother and clearer.  Essential oils also have some great benefits to your skin’s beauty.

Treat sun damage

Summer2If by any chance you have been unlucky and the sun-damage has already caught up with you, it is important to treat it. One of the most common skin conditions caused by sun-damage is Melasma, which is characterized by dark spots on your skin, especially the face. Treating Melasma is not very complicated; but for you to know how to deal with this condition, you have to visit a skincare expert. A good skin care specialist will tell you more about understanding and treating Melasma.

There are many other tips, but for now I leave you with these ones. You can also check out some anti-aging skincare tips I shared a few days ago.

Happy summer and stay safe!

xoxo
