Decorating For Christmas - Top Tips on Creating a Festive Feeling at HomeWho doesn’t get that warm and fuzzy feeling every time you think about Christmas (even if it’s in June)? My Christmas season begins the moment I start decorating for Christmas like putting up my Christmas tree (sometimes it can be as early as October). The decorating itself helps in creating a festive feeling in my space, but, as I just learned, there’s more to decorating for Christmas than just putting up colorful stuff and a Christmas tree.

The thing about Christmas is that while in the pursuit of joy and making merry (say that again), we often find ourselves stressing about selecting the right Christmas gifts, or trying to book the last flight or train home after ticket prices have skyrocketed and cabins are jam-packed.

Christmas is about making an overstatement. For the first time, I would say “the more, the better (or merrier)!” But that doesn’t mean your colossal Christmas can’t be stylish. My association with Christmas is all about pleasing the senses; you feel it the moment you step through the door.

When it comes to the main feature, the Christmas tree, I say find the biggest one your living room will grant you!  It is important to choose a Christmas color-scheme, and I recommend selecting one color in combination with white or black, and one metal (gold or silver) and religiously repeat this throughout your home. My favorite this year is beige/champagne and silver, and yes, on a real green Christmas tree. Fake white and pink trees are a no-go! Surprisingly, I always find my best trees in small shops in Satwa (most of us know where that is).
