Finding Beauty ME: What is the beautiful story behind Creative Box Dubai?

Ritu: I started Creative Box as a way of pursuing my passion for art and design. I was always passionate about this area even though I never pursued the same academically or professionally. So I decided I would give up my job in client management and pursue this. Prior to quitting, I had already started designing handmade greeting cards and then supplying them to various stores across Dubai.

Finding Beauty ME: How far has Creative Box Dubai come since you started?

Ritu: Well, I started from designing in my bedroom with just one drawer of supplies, then slowly moved into one room and then slowly but surely managed to have a small workshop that accommodated all my precious supplies. My first project was hand-made greeting cards and now we are a full services boutique design company for wedding stationery and other events stationery. We have been listed on various websites as a preferred vendor across UAE and India.

Finding Beauty ME: As a mother of two with a hectic schedule, how do you balance motherhood with that need of pushing Creative Box to new heights?

Ritu: I must say that it’s not easy because as mothers, we are always making daily choices with a guilty feeling that seems to just hang in there somewhere. But with the support of my husband and family, I have been able to come so far. They have always encouraged me and backed me up, which has made the move forward easier to handle.

Inspiration Behind Creative Box Dubai

Finding Beauty ME: What inspires you to create these beautiful pieces of art?

Ritu: Every time I meet brides who are having different themes and colors, it challenges me to create something different because most of the time the client is always willing to explore. Also creating invitations is a collaborative process, where we help the couples translate their thoughts onto the design board. Narratives from the couple help us create something unique for them. This is what widens my mind more, and helps me to come up with something different and unique.

Finding Beauty ME: Where do you do your crafting magic?

Ritu: I have a workshop at home, which makes it easier to manage my home and work. The job is more fun because my two girls are always a constant in my studio to the point that my oldest has been requesting to compete in making art so that she can prove she is a better designer than me.
