5 Reasons to Love Tabasco Sauce

Tabasco Sauce Benefits to Your Body and MealsI knew sooner or later I’d have to have a post about good old Tabasco sauce benefits. You see, lately, I have found myself obsessed with this spicy and tangy sauce. I have a bottle in my kitchen, another one at my mother’s and in my office cabinet. And whenever I decide to eat out, I have to make sure the restaurant in question has Tabasco sauce. Hell, I even drizzle Tabasco sauce on my mid-morning snack of boiled eggs! Now if that is not an obsession, I don’t know what is.

So after I came to the realization that I’m obsessed, I decided to dig in further and find out if I’m reaping anything out of the sauce or if it’s just one of those things that neither add nor deduct anything from your life.

Amazing Tabasco Sauce Benefits

Helps in Weight Loss

Apparently, the first thing that popped up on my search for Tabasco sauce benefits was its abilities to help in weight loss. Not that I have any weight left to lose but hey, never say never. Tabasco contains the wonder compound capsaicin which is a thermogenic substance that causes the body temperature to rise. This boosts metabolism temporarily and revives its ability to burn calories. Adding the spicy sauce to your breakfast eggs will definitely boost your metabolism throughout the day. Plus you are likely to eat less when you add the sauce (not me).

Tabasco is Good for the Heart

Capsaicin, found in chilies, lowers LDL or bad cholesterol which accumulates on artery walls and constricts blood flow to the heart. Adding a kick to your meals with the help of this sauce might reduce your risk of getting a heart disease according to some studies. It helps in dilating blood vessels, promoting circulation and manage sugar levels.

Live Longer

According to one study at Havard, eating spicy food every day can give you a 14% chance of living longer than those who consume spicy foods less. So next time add some kick to your vegetables, soup (or grilled salmon) and enjoy the possibility of lengthening your life.

Reduces Minor Pains and Strains

The capsaicin compound in Tabasco sauce can help in reducing pain and inflammation (I had no idea about this one). Adding it to your food when in pain does the trick with the heat distracting you from the pain.

Reduces Cancer

Sprinkling some Tabasco sauce on your food can reduce your chances of getting cancer according to another study. This, of course, goes hand in hand with regular exercise and a healthy diet. In addition to this, Tabasco sauce benefits include boosting immunity.

So after my findings on the Tabasco sauce benefits, I have renewed hope of trying my best not to get bored with it and moving on to something else.
