Stem Cell Facelift: Non-surgical Facelift which Turns Back Time

Is Stem Cell Facial Rejuvenation a Miracle Cure for Aging?

Stem Cell Facelift: Non-surgical Facelift that Turns Back TimeStem Cell Facelift has been around for quite some time now, but there are people who’ve always wondered about the magic behind it. After receiving a few queries about this non-surgical facelift procedure, I decided to have a chat with Dr. Martain Pierre Jean Loonen, a Board Certified plastic surgeon and expert in Stem Cell facelift based in Abu Dhabi, on what this delicate procedure entails.

What is a Stem Cell Facelift?

The Stem Cell Facelift, according to Dr. Martain, uses the body’s own regenerative properties to reverse aging and rejuvenate our looks. He notes that it’s a practice that has been in use in the aesthetics industry for a while now. “These regenerative properties include the use of Stem Cells (from autologous fat) transferred from other areas of the body to the face.”

Known simply as a Stem Cell Facelift, the procedure has come to be recognized as one of the most effective non-surgical facelift procedures available to date. That’s if of course the procedure is performed by an experienced and certified surgeon, it offers complete facial rejuvenation that is an alternative to the traditional surgical procedure.

“And since aging is a way of life and we cannot outrun it, this minimally invasive technique promises fast results with less downtime in addition to shaving years off your face without the pain and recovery associated with going under the knife.”

How Stem Cell Facelift Works

The Stem Cell Facelift, explains Dr. Martain, works by transferring harvested adipose cells, which have been shown to be rich in human stem cells, from other areas of the body.

“The procedure starts off with a mini-liposuction, where adult stem cells are harvested from the fat (mostly from the stomach or medial thigh area). These fat cells are transferred to a collector and filtered in the collector,” he states adding that unlike a few years back, centrifuging is not necessary anymore. “The aspirated fat, rich in stem cells, is injected around the face, or facial areas where one has lost a vast amount of volume in a multilayer approach (deep and superficial injections, which continuously restores the volume over time. The cells will repair that area and the patient, male or female, will look years younger.”

Advanced Approach to the Stem Cell Facelift

In addition to the above, notes the good doctor, his clinic has a new recent technique available, which has already been approved by the health authorities in the Emirates. “In this technique, a small amount of fat is collected and sent to a special laboratory where the adipose-derived stem cells (stem cells from the fat tissue) are collected and multiplied. After 12 days, this very high concentration of stem cells can be injected into the skin for rejuvenation or added to fat tissue to correct volume loss. The addition of stem cell fat cells increases the survival of the fat tissue”.

This anti-aging procedure, according to Dr. Martain, is among the first of its kind to quickly restore skin tightness and youthful contours combined with an evened skin tone through autologous cellular therapy, which is rich in the person’s own cells.

On many occasions, the regeneration of the collagen is promoted by combining the fat with its adult stem cells with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), which works together to rejuvenate and restore volume. “This combination reverses aging with its powerful regenerative properties.”

Advantages of Using Stem Cell for the Non-Surgical Facelift

Since the fat-derived stem cells come from the patient, there is no possibility of any allergic reactions. “These stem cells have no ethical or moral issues since they are isolated from fat and have the ability to home to and repair damaged tissue,” says the doctor adding that studies have also indicated that these stem cells also secrete proteins and peptides that stimulate healing of damaged tissue.

The treatment, which is an outpatient procedure, is done under local anesthesia. “Recovery, on the other hand, takes about a week, and the results can be assessed 3 months after the procedure,” states Dr. Martain, adding that the results can last up to 8 years, depending on a person’s lifestyle and genetics.

Expected Results of a Stem Cell Facelift

By undergoing a Stem Cell Facelift, one’s skin is drastically rejuvenated because once the adult stem cells are injected into the face, they release chemicals that aid in the healing of aging cells as well as stimulate the nearby cells to reproduce, and in the end, create brand-new tissue.

7 days after the non-surgical facelift, one can expect to see more smooth skin devoid of wrinkles and frown lines, as well as under-eye circles. In addition, over time, the patient will notice that the skin becomes more toned and firm. “It is like aging backward,” concludes Dr. Martain.

Dr. Martain reiterates that you should always go to an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon for any cosmetic procedures like the Stem Cell Facelift. These procedures are performed in a safe environment with other medical staff present.
