Find the Right Swimsuit to Flatter your Body Shape

Find the Right Swimsuit to Flatter your Body ShapeSometimes when a piece of cloth fits, it doesn’t mean that it flatters your body shape. The same thinking can also be applied when it comes to buying a swimsuit. You have to find the right swimsuit that will completely flatter your body shape; regardless if you are curvy, slim or somewhere in-between.

To prep you for swimsuit season, which is practically all year round here in the Emirates, the guys from SPEEDO have come up with a guide that you should consider following while at it. It doesn’t matter if you have a strappy or halterneck taste, plain or patterned; just make sure you don’t buy any swimsuits before reading this guide.

Hourglass figures are characterized by having a bust that is equal in measurement to the hips. More often than not, this body shape comes with a small, defined waist. If this is your figure, the right swimsuit will be one that highlights the waist. Using a colored band will work well here.

Pear-Shaped Body

If you have a pear-shaped body, you know that weight tends to be carried on the lower half, normally around the hips and thighs. To balance this out, bring the upper half of the body into focus with a fun and pretty detailing swimsuit, which will keep the bottom half darker.

Inverted triangle body shapes are broader on the top half of the body. Look for the right swimsuit styles that are banded around the midriff. Make sure they can also be tied at the back and around the neck, allowing for adjustments for a personal fit. This would definitely flatter your body shape.

Right Swimsuit for an Athletic Body Shape

If you have an athletic figure, it means you may have no waist and/or slim hips and strong, broad shoulders (sounds familiar). The right swimsuit to flatter this body shape will have to be one that creates some curves by being a one-piece suit with a high-on-the-thigh cut.

What is your body shape and what kind of swimsuit is your favorite? For me, it’s the same old two-piece. Sound off in the comments below.
